Thomas Barclay letters 1783-1821

American Loyalist. Contains letters, a bill of exchange, and a certification. One letter is from Barclay to "His Excellency the Governor of the State of New Hampshire" [Meshech Weare] and dated January 27, 1783. Another is from Barclay to John DeLancey dated October 27, 1783. A letter dated April 4, 1798 is from Barclay to the Honorable James Sullivan and another dated March 14, 1806 is from Barclay to Samuel W. Hopkins, Esq.The bill of exchange is dated October 5, 1811 made out to Alexander McClure by Barclay. The certification is dated September 17, 1813 and releases James Miller (an American lieutenant colonel who had been captured by the British) from the conditions of his parole.
